Jess Dunn is an American-Italian filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York. A transient upbringing shaped Jess’s life as an observer. Early ‘90’s fashion photography initially drew Jess to visual imagery. She grew up shooting film photography, later discovering filmmaking in college at Virginia Tech. Their mission is to transform how film, television, and media present sexuality and gender. 

In 2020, Jess was featured in Shoot Magazine’s New Director’s Showcase, sponsored by the Director’s Guild. Her work includes two distributed webseries; @datingZoe on Go-Mag TV, and Gray Ground on Seeka TV.  Jess is in development on her debut feature film, Cultish. A prior member of the Cinematographer’s Guild, Jess’ work punctuates the connection between camera and story.

When she’s not directing, Jess tells stories through editing. A classically trained pianist, the rhythm of editing across a keyboard feels natural.
